Resistance, Only Option Against Foreign Threats: Defense Minister
Shamkhani told a group of judicial officials that resistance would be effective if is supported by the society as well as through civil resistance. He said, "Iran's foreign policy should invariably follow the process of repelling threats."
He added that the U.S. follows a policy of unilateralism with an aim to exert hegemonistic power in the region so, the campaign against this strategy would be possible through all-out resistance to the likely threats by Washington, according to the Minister.
Shamkhani said, "Potential foreign threats, continued factional bickerings and fast moving social and political developments are major obstacles to civil resistance, stirring unrest in the society.
"The United States of America, dazed by the September 11th incidents last year, has launched psychological warfare against independent states, trying to improve its national strength by trading allegations.
"The most effective way to counter different methods employed by the U.S. and manage the ongoing process is promotion of political solidarity and cohesion," he said.
